the alchemical vessel
Strong enough to hold the fire. Open enough to hold the mystery.
A six-week experiential journey for therapists, facilitators, coaches, and healing practitioners who hold space for transformation.
Transformation requires a vessel strong enough to hold it.
When we hold space for another human being, we enter a field that is emotional, relational, somatic and, at times, difficult to explain through one framework alone.
A client becomes highly activated.
A group suddenly shifts.
You feel something in your own body that may or may not belong to you.
An experience arises that could be understood psychologically, energetically, spiritually, or through the nervous system.
How do we remain present without becoming overwhelmed?
How do we stay open without becoming porous?
How do we discern what belongs to us, what belongs to another, and what is happening in the space between?
And how do we work at the edges of what we understand while remaining grounded in integrity, ethics, and our own scope of practice?
This is the work of the Alchemical Vessel.
tending to the vessel
Before we learn to hold more for others, we have to understand the vessel through which we hold.
Your nervous system.
Your body.
Your boundaries.
Your unconscious patterns.
Your capacity for emotional intensity.
Your relationship to intuition.
Your ability to remain rooted when the space becomes charged.
The quality of the spaces we create is inseparable from the quality of presence we bring into them.
Over six weeks, we will explore the inner structure, relational capacity, and energetic integrity that allow us to hold transformational spaces with greater clarity and depth.
Not by becoming impenetrable.
But by becoming grounded enough to remain open.

where two ways of knowing meet
The Alchemical Vessel was born from an ongoing conversation between two practitioners working from different, yet deeply complementary perspectives.
Courtenay brings over 10 years of clinical experience working psychotherapeutically with complex trauma, attachment, nervous system science, somatic work, and experiential approaches.
Amakizia brings decades of yoga, embodiment, spiritual practice, ritual, energetics, and ancient wisdom traditions.
Again and again, we have encountered similar human experiences through different languages.
One perspective may speak of nervous system activation, relational dynamics, projection, or transference.
Another may speak of energy, intuition, boundaries, or the field.
We are not interested in collapsing these perspectives into one.
We are interested in the discernment that becomes possible when we allow them to sit beside one another.
Throughout the journey, you will experience both perspectives in dialogue—not as competing explanations, but as a living inquiry into what each way of knowing can reveal.
the six week journey
Each week moves through a different stage of the alchemical process and explores an essential capacity of the practitioner.
Week 1
Building the Vessel
The Foundation | Integrity
What makes transformation safe enough to occur?
We begin with the practitioner and the container they create.
Through grounding, centering, and orienting practices, we explore relational safety, boundaries, ethics, facilitator presence, and the relationship between protection and permeability.
THE CAPACITY: INTEGRITY
Creating a trustworthy container.
Week 2
holding the fire
Calcination | Stability
How do we remain present when the work becomes intense?
Transformation can bring heat—activation, resistance, fear, urgency, or the impulse to fix or rescue. We explore how to stay grounded in intensity without becoming overwhelmed, controlling the process, or abandoning ourselves, while engaging fire as a symbol of transformation and courage.
THE CAPACITY: STABILITY
Remaining grounded amid activation.
Week 3
holding the waters
Dissolution | Fluidity
What allows us to soften into what has been against?
Not all transformation happens through fire. Some experiences ask us to soften, receive, grieve, and allow what has been held to begin moving again. We explore emotional processing, somatic experience, co-regulation, surrender, and receptivity without forcing experience toward an outcome.
THE CAPACITY: Fluidity
Allowing movement without losing presence.
Week 4
discernment
Separation | Clarity
What belongs to me? What belongs to another? What is happening between us?
Perhaps the most important capacity for anyone who holds transformational space is discernment. We explore relational dynamics, projection, transference, countertransference, differentiation, and protective patterns alongside intuition, energetic boundaries, and sovereignty—holding multiple possibilities while remaining grounded in ethics and scope of practice.
THE CAPACITY: Clarity
Discerning self, other, and the relational field.
Week 5
sacred union
Conjuction | Coherence
How do seemingly opposing truths become integrated?
Healing does not always require choosing one truth over another: psychological and spiritual, structure and surrender, self and other, knowing and mystery. Through partner practices and co-regulation, we explore integration, relational repair, and wholeness alongside sacred union, polarity, heart coherence, and ceremony.
THE CAPACITY: COHERENCE
Allowing apparent opposites to become part of a more integrated whole.
Week 6
BECOMING THE VESSEL
Distillation & Fermentation | Prescence
How do we continue this work without believing we need to know everything?
We end not with mastery, but with humility. Through reflective practice, integration, ethics, sustainability, and stewardship, we explore how to remain devoted to our own practice while recognizing the edges of our capacity.
It means knowing yourself deeply enough to remain open without losing your center.
THE CAPACITY: PRESENCE
Living the work through ongoing practice, reflection and service.

THE ALCHEMICAL VESSEL
The vessel does not stop the fire.
It gives the fire somewhere to burn.
It does not stop the waters.
It gives them somewhere to move.
And it does not remove mystery.
It gives us enough structure to meet the unknown without losing ourselves within it.
Strong enough to hold the fire.
Open enough to hold the mystery.
